Applifarm - A company truly involved in the valuation and traceability of animal welfare
Preview of the animal welfare platform on 25 & 26 february at the international agricultural show
Consumers and the society at large constantly expect transparency and traceability in the food products they purchase - namely regarding animal welfare, and particularly focusing on breeding, transport and slaughter conditions. Fully aware of these many challenges, Applifarm* has developed a new version of its valuation and traceability platform dedicated to animal welfare. It will be introduced for the very first time on 25 and 26 February at the International Agricultural Show in Paris.
Applifarm: boosting projects that value animal welfare approaches
Amidst the many health scandals and questioned breeding and transformation practices, consumers need to be reassured when choosing which products to buy. According to a 2017 Ifop survey, 80% of the French population claim they are concerned about animal welfare, and 70% wish to be better informed about this topic in relation to the products they consume. With this observation in mind, many brands, distributors, labels and livestock farmers are beginning to develop initiatives to show more proof to consumers and enhance trust. A number of CSR approaches are also being implemented in agri-food companies - integrating animal welfare as a criterion. Having listened to our consumers and the industry as a whole, we have recently developed a new version of our traceability platform, fully dedicated to animal welfare. It helps simplify the implementation of projects devoted to animal welfare, digitalise in-field audits automatically sustained by previously-available breeding data or existing connected objects, monitor progress for in-field assessment campaigns, manage multi-annual progress plans and even steer personalised dashboards. This platform is also available as a white label product for cooperatives, industrial companies, distributors or labels - in the form of an subscription.
Access and use of the dedicated Applifarm Animal Welfare mobile and web application provides a true digital resource, making it possible to improve practices, smooth out feedback processes, value breeding practices, simplify processes for farmers and raise awareness among brands and downstream from the industry with a view to reassuring consumers and providing higher levels of transparency.
